E-texts

The links on this page lead to a variety of full-text on-line resources that deal with feminism, leftist politics, cultural studies, and cyberculture. The links are limited to academic journals, periodicals, and a few zines – i.e., basically anything that looks like an on-line journal. When I want to surf various on-line journals, I use this page instead of going through my library server or weeding through my bookmarks.

What’s not included here is the standard fare you can access through your library or the hubs that typically come up first on a search engine. I did include a small handful of hubs or link collections if they had paper or article archives. There are several amazing hubs and databases out there that are worth a visit, like the impressive Voice of the Shuttle, Cultural Studies Central, Sarah Zupko’s Cultural Studies Center, the University of Iowa’s Communication Studies Resources site, Daniel Chandler’s Media and Communication Studies site, Karla Tonella’s Women’s Studies Resources at Iowa, Joan Korenman’s pages that include women’s studies resources.

Keeping track of online journals is a difficult and depressing task. It seems that many good and interesting online journals suffer from one of two fates. Either they die after two or three years, or they are bought by a publisher and become subscription only. I left several dead journals on the list because the site remains open with interesting archives.
