Listening: Wyndham Hill, A Winter’s Solstice IV
* Hillary and Barack are on the cover of Newsweek this week. There’s nothing of real interest in the article; it’s just more speculation about the democratic primaries.
* The Duke Rape Case is being dropped because of lack of dna evidence. I’m sure there’s something Foucaultian to be said here about the money shot and (in)visible signifiers of rape, and the technologies of the legal system, but I’m not quite sure what it would be.
* I have two of four syllabi ready to go for the Spring and I’m slowly making my way through the textbooks. I’m worried, since I’ve thrown out all my stuff in a massive purge, that I don’t have very many resources. It’s going to be a true scramble next semester. I have got to stay on top of the ball and not be a flake.
* Today is mine and Stevie’s anniversary. 8 years together, married. At dinner I got to hear the recital ofwhat we have done on every single anniversary. Each year the list gets one year longer, too. It’s a very Stevie tradition.
