My husband
This is what my husband looks like when he is frustrated or mad. It is part of the reason why I love him.
In other Sells-Jaros news, the niece is coming back from Hawaii tomorrow at midnight and then I will have to drive her to Natchitoches on Sunday. How she gets to be this continental jet-setter, hopping from Cali to NY to Hawaii, when Steve and I are staying home and watching tv (admittedly it’s hi-def) is beyond me. Ah well, you only live once.
Today Steve and I saw Happy Feet. It was very cute, with a feel-good political message about pollution and overfishing. My favorite part of the movie is when Mumble, the main character, is in the zoo and one of the zoo-mates tells him he’s in penguin heaven. Zoo from the creature’s perspective reminded me of the visits I made to the Pheonix Zoo with the Pop Culture class at ASU. It’s depressing. But then, as we said in our Haraway article, state parks are better than no parks. And I guess that goes for zoos, too.
