Iraq Veterans Against the War
So I get emails from the True Majority, which is a progressive organization that does all kinds of activism. They send out tons of emails with great information. They are part of the Mandate for Peace along with Code Pink, who I also get emails from. One of the groups who support the Mandate for Peace is the Iraq Veterans Against the War. I wonder if we can get one of them to campus to speak. That would be so awesome. Anyway, given my early childhood history with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, I looked up the IVAW with much interest. The IVAW seems to be pretty small right now, but hopefully now that it’s ok to disapprove of the war, it will grow. They have a great list of reasons to be against the war: http://www.ivaw.org/faq. They also provide a rationale for immediate withdrawal. It’s an interesting read.
