Women See This One Color Differently
I’m blogging Netscape foo again. I don’t even no what to call this trivial crap but I find myself reading it over and over again. It’s like crackerjacks. I hate crackerjacks. I hate peanuts. I like the caramel pop corn, but it sticks in my teeth and irritates my gums, so it’s just not worth the hassle, right? And, here I go, popping another bit of crackerjacks in my mouth again. *crunch*
Anyway, according to this CNN/Netscape bit, women can see variations on red better than man can because women have double hits of a red-seeing gene. It amazes me how casually everyone is about genetics. This article reports this red-seeing gene as a fait accomplis and never once questions the causal, teleological relationship between gene and manifestation. It even goes so far as to attribute this gene’s presence to CAVEWOMAN days when women foraged for berries.
This kind of bullshit makes me want to pull out my hair. Seriously. Where do they come up with this bullshit.
