I got a copy of the call for papers for the Labour Process Conference in email today. The conference is in Amsterdam next year, which Steve already told me when we were in England in April. I was so excited at that point, but all the relevant dates (my spring break, Steve’s spring break, Southern States Communication Association conference, and Labour Process). So now most of the dates are settled, at least on my end of the deal. The conference is April 5-7. SSCA is April 1-4. Spring Break at LSU is April 5-10. So, I’d have to give up Southern, basically, since I don’t think there’s any way that I could go to a conference, come home early, and then jet over to Amsterdam. Jet! Ha! It sounds so jet set, so Euro, so worldly! Where are my sunglasses? Where is the key to my jag?
Anyways, I’m disappointed because Southern is in Tampa this year and I was -really- looking forward to that. But, would I pass up Amsterdam for Tampa? Uhm, no. Next year Southern will be in Baton Rouge. *shudder*
